These accolades aim to highlight productions that are culturally and artistically representative of the year's most significant cinematic and television achievements.
A special honor was bestowed upon "It Was Just an Accident," directed by Jafar Panahi, a filmmaker currently facing a year-long prison sentence in Iran. AFI president and CEO Bob Gazzale emphasized the organization's commitment to celebrating creative ensembles, noting their collective power to inspire during challenging times.
