A four-year-old Afghan hound named Samantha, residing in Edinburgh, Scotland, is capturing widespread attention on social media for her exquisite fashion sense. Her owner, Bethany Plevri, curates and photographs Samantha's trendy looks, which have been featured on the afghanhoundinthecity online account.
Plevri, a mother of two, chose the breed due to its striking appearance and hypoallergenic qualities, a practical consideration for her husband's allergies. Samantha joined Plevri's family as a three-month-old puppy, named to evoke a 1960s or 1970s sensibility.
Samantha's online fame grew organically as Plevri experimented with styling and photography. The dog's unique elegance and aloof character, admired by Plevri, contribute to her appeal. Her wardrobe features diverse pieces, including pearls, turbans, and leather jackets, often sourced from Plevri's own closet or local thrift shops.
Maintaining Samantha's flowing coat requires a dedicated daily grooming routine of approximately 30 minutes, alongside regular baths. Plevri manages this meticulous care around her children's schedules. This dedication extends to her photography skills, where she has learned to capture Samantha's best angles and suitable styles.
Beyond her fashionable online persona, Samantha is described as a cuddly and observant companion. She enjoys quiet moments with Plevri, visiting dog-friendly cafes in Edinburgh and going on morning runs together. This blend of high fashion and everyday charm defines Samantha's unique appeal.
