Affleck Roasts Damon Over 'The Odyssey' Role

Ben Affleck recently shared amusing anecdotes about his close friend Matt Damon during an interview on The Today Show. Affleck playfully poked fun at Damon's decision to withdraw from the lead role in Affleck's upcoming directorial project, 'Animals', a 2026 movie release. Damon had to bow out due to scheduling conflicts that arose while preparing to film Christopher Nolan's historical epic, 'The Odyssey'.

This friendly banter underscores the robust and long-standing friendship between the two Boston natives, who first achieved fame together with 'Good Will Hunting'. Affleck expressed pride in Damon's achievements, showcasing the genuine support within their relationship. The camaraderie is so strong that they are slated to work together again on 'The Rip', another film scheduled for a 2026 release, demonstrating their continued collaborative spirit.

Despite their tendency to tease each other about career choices and personal habits, the core of their bond is mutual respect and shared history. This enduring friendship, which has weathered years of Hollywood success, serves as an inspiration. Fans can catch Affleck in 'Animals', now available to stream on Netflix, and see both actors in 'The Rip' on the same platform.
