All Elite Wrestling (AEW) is stepping into the world of musical theater through a new partnership with 'The Last Match: A Pro-Wrestling Rock Experience.' This collaboration will bring the production to a venue near London's Tottenham Court Road in the West End this fall. AEW CEO Tony Khan expressed excitement about merging the wrestling promotion with theatrical production and showcasing AEW stars.
The musical features a rock score inspired by the 1980s and tells the story of a wrestler's final event. Uniquely, attendees are encouraged to capture photos and videos during the performance. Each show will also include an interactive wrestling pre-show with wrestling-themed installations. Ticket prices are set between £30 and £80, with exclusive VIP experiences to be announced.
Director Jeremiah James highlighted the innovative nature of this collaboration, describing it as a West End rock musical set within professional wrestling. Executive producer Frank Licari noted that each performance will be unique due to live wrestling elements, offering potential surprises and special guests. Wrestler Chavo Guerrero serves as an executive producer and wrestling consultant for the production.
