Filmmaker Aditya Dhar, known for the blockbuster 'Uri: The Surgical Strike,' is preparing to direct a major new project for Jio Studios. The ambitious film tells the story of an Indian spy embedded within the gangs of Karachi, a narrative that promises a grand cinematic scale. The initial pitch to Jyoti Deshpande, president of Jio Studios (Media & Content Business RIL), was delivered by Ojas Gautam, who is related to actress Yami Gautam.
Dhar, who had already produced three films after his directorial debut, was eager to return to directing. This new venture signifies a significant investment and creative push from Jio Studios. The team behind the film is aiming to make a substantial impact on the box office with this unique spy thriller.
This project was conceived in late 2024 when Dhar and his brother Lokesh of B-62 Studios presented the story idea. Despite an earlier ambitious project getting stalled, Dhar is now focused on bringing this high-stakes narrative to life, potentially rewriting box-office history.
