Adil Hussain Regrets 'Kabir Singh', Declines Rs 200 Cr for 'Animal'

Actor Adil Hussain has voiced regret regarding his participation in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's 2019 romantic drama 'Kabir Singh'. He revealed in a recent conversation that even an offer of Rs 200 crore would not persuade him to join a project akin to Vanga's 2023 film 'Animal'. Hussain considers himself fortunate to have consistent acting offers across various languages and platforms, affording him the financial stability to decline lucrative roles that compromise his ethical standards.

Previously, Hussain had admitted to signing 'Kabir Singh' without reading the script, labeling the film as misogynistic and glorifying violence. He also stated he would categorically refuse a role in 'Animal', even for a sum between Rs 100 crore and Rs 200 crore. This stance led to a public exchange with director Vanga, who accused Hussain of prioritizing greed over passion. Hussain countered by questioning Vanga's standing compared to acclaimed international directors like Mira Nair and Ang Lee.
