Lambert's Journey: Embracing Authenticity Over Fame

Adam Lambert, born in Indianapolis in 1982, gained prominence in 2009 as the runner-up on American Idol. His album 'Trespassing' achieved a historic No. 1 on the Billboard 200, making him the first openly gay male artist to do so. He later became the frontman for Queen + Adam Lambert, beginning in 2012.

Lambert's career also includes a Broadway debut in 2024 as the Emcee in 'Cabaret' and a role as Judas in 'Jesus Christ Superstar' in 2025. His sixth solo album, 'Adam,' is now available, and he is scheduled to perform at London's Roundhouse on July 21st.

Reflecting on his journey, Lambert, now in his 40s, expresses a newfound sense of calm. He notes that his self-esteem is no longer solely dependent on commercial success, a shift from earlier in his career. He feels he is returning to the pure joy of creativity, unburdened by self-sabotage.

The artist also touched upon navigating public scrutiny, particularly after a controversial performance on the American Music Awards which included a kiss with another man. Despite initial backlash and concerns from his label, he has learned to prioritize his authentic self over seeking external approval.
