Adam Deacon: BAFTA Cut Me After I Exposed Predator
23 Feb
Summary
- Adam Deacon claims he was the sole former winner omitted from a BAFTA montage.
- He alleges this exclusion is retaliation for exposing a sexual predator.
- The actor was previously found guilty of harassment towards Noel Clarke in 2015.

Adam Deacon, an actor and former BAFTA Rising Star winner, has publicly accused the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) of deliberately excluding him from a recent awards ceremony montage. Deacon, 42, best known for his role in 'Kidulthood,' stated on social media that he was the only past recipient not featured in the montage.
He suggested this exclusion was a direct consequence of his actions in exposing a sexual predator, an act he argued led to significant positive changes in UK and US filming laws, particularly concerning nudity. Deacon expressed his dismay, questioning what he did wrong to warrant being 'banished' from the BAFTAs.
The controversy emerges in the context of Noel Clarke's recent bankruptcy, declared in December 2025 after losing a legal battle concerning allegations of sexual misconduct. Clarke, who played a role in initiating Deacon's acting career, had previously accused Deacon of harassment in 2015, leading to a conviction and a ban from contacting Clarke.
Meanwhile, the 2026 BAFTA Film Awards saw 'One Battle After Another' dominate the ceremony, securing six awards including Best Film and Best Director. Other notable winners included Jessie Buckley for Leading Actress and Robert Aramayo for Leading Actor. The EE Rising Star Award was presented to Robert Aramayo, with other nominees including Miles Caton and Archie Madekwe.
