Actress Defends 8-Hour Work Shift Demand

Actress Jyotika has offered a unique perspective on the ongoing debate surrounding eight-hour work shifts in the film industry, a discussion amplified by Deepika Padukone's reported project departures. Reflecting on her career, Jyotika highlighted a significant difference between Bollywood and the Tamil film industry. She recalled how an initial Bollywood film's failure led to doors closing, whereas a similar setback in Tamil cinema resulted in abundant offers.

Jyotika also noted a positive shift in Bollywood, observing that the industry is now creating more diverse and compelling scripts for women in their 40s, an area she feels the South is yet to fully explore. Despite this progress, she pointed out that South Indian film industries typically adhere to more regimented shooting schedules, often concluding by 6 PM.

Sonakshi Sinha joined the conversation, questioning the controversy around actresses requesting shorter work hours. She argued that male actors often leave after their stipulated time without scrutiny, making such demands reasonable for established actresses.
