In October 2025, actress Gaby Hoffman shared that she had the full blessing of Bruce Springsteen to portray his mother, Adele, in an upcoming biopic. Hoffman, who stars alongside Jeremy Allen White as "The Boss," revealed that Springsteen himself visited the set during production, "giving his blessings and expressing his gratitude."
Describing Springsteen as a "very, lovely incredible man," Hoffman acknowledged the challenges of depicting a woman Springsteen has called his "light," while also portraying a turbulent period in his family's past. "I don't exactly understand how we do what we do as actors, it's a mystery," Hoffman said, crediting the film's director, script, and production design for helping her capture the essence of Adele Springsteen.
The biopic, titled "Deliver Me from Nowhere," chronicles the making of Springsteen's 1982 album "Nebraska" and the pressures he faced as a young musician on the cusp of global superstardom. The film, written and directed by Scott Cooper, is based on author Warren Zanes' book of the same name and also stars Jeremy Strong, Paul Walter Hauser, and other notable actors.
