5 Apr
Summary
- Five Tollywood production house members charged with negligence.
- Actor's wife alleges lack of safety and false narrative.
- Incident occurred during TV serial shoot in Talsari, Odisha.

In Talsari, Odisha, police have initiated a case against five key figures from Magic Moments Motion Picture Pvt Ltd. This action follows the death of actor Rahul Banerjee during a TV serial shoot on Sunday, March 29. The production house members face charges of negligence leading to the actor's demise and allegedly fabricating a false narrative.
The investigation commenced after Rahul Banerjee's wife, Priyanka Sarkar, lodged a complaint at the Talsari Marine Police Station on Saturday night. She asserts the production house failed to obtain necessary permissions from Odisha government authorities for filming in the sea and disregarded crucial safety protocols. Local warnings regarding quicksand and treacherous tides were reportedly ignored by the crew.
Priyanka Sarkar further accused the production house of deliberately concealing the true events and misleading the police. Contradictory statements from crew members and accounts from local witnesses have fueled suspicion regarding the lack of safety measures. Subhasish Mondal, one of the accused, had previously claimed the shooting concluded when Rahul insisted on an unscripted drone shot, leading to the fatal incident.
