- Hassan was allegedly forced to apologize after a complaint by Lakshmi Priya.
A Kerala court has mandated the filing of a First Information Report (FIR) against Malayalam actor Lakshmi Priya, her husband Jayesh, and a sub-inspector named Reshma. This directive follows a complaint from actor Ansiba Hassan, who alleges illegal detention and emotional harassment at a women's police cell in Kochi.
Hassan claims she was summoned to the Hill Palace Police Station following a complaint by Lakshmi Priya regarding a WhatsApp message. During her alleged three-hour detention, Hassan states she was subjected to emotional distress and compelled to write an apology, which she later claimed was altered.
Initially, local police decided against registering an FIR after a preliminary inquiry. Consequently, Hassan approached the magistrate's court, which has now ordered the Station House Officer of Hill Palace Police Station to proceed with the FIR and investigation under Section 175(3) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita.
In a separate but related development, actor Tini Tom was recently booked on court orders for allegedly making communal remarks against Hassan, a charge he denies. The court stressed that the accusations warranted a detailed investigation to uncover the truth.
