The acclaimed British crime anthology series, Accused, originally aired over 16 years ago in 2010. It presents 10 distinct episodes, each a self-contained narrative focusing on different criminal cases and individuals awaiting court verdicts.
The series boasts a remarkable ensemble cast. Alongside stars Sheridan Smith and Stephen Graham, viewers can see performances from Olivia Colman, Peter Capaldi, John Bishop, and many other celebrated British and Irish actors.
Accused is currently available to stream in its entirety on ITVX. The anthology format means each roughly hour-long episode can be watched independently, offering flexibility for viewers.
Critics at the time noted its compelling nature but also a pervasive sense of misery, with The Guardian observing a lack of 'light and shade.' Despite critical acclaim and an International Emmy award, initial ratings were modest, a sentiment echoed by Metro.
