Acclaimed theatre director Bijan Sheibani is making his feature film debut with the gripping family drama "The Arrival." The film, which has just wrapped production in the UK, follows the reunion of two long-lost brothers, Raheem (Archie Madekwe) and Tom (Kingsley Ben-Adir), in adulthood.
Tom, the elder of the two, was given up for adoption as an infant. As the brothers grow closer, they must confront the uncomfortable truths at the heart of their family and the impossible decision their parents (Joanna Scanlan and Alex Descas) made 30 years ago. The film is described as a "gut-wrenching, depiction of identity, obsession and betrayal."
"The Arrival" is produced by a prestigious team, including Michael Fassbender's DMC Film and House Productions, the company behind "Conclave." The film has been co-financed by Film4 and the BFI, and Cornerstone is handling worldwide sales.
