The 2025 Red Sea International Film Festival has announced that acclaimed director Sean Baker will serve as the jury president for this year's edition. Baker is renowned for his trailblazing work, including the critically acclaimed Tangerine, which was shot entirely on an iPhone 5S, and The Florida Project, which earned actor Willem Dafoe an Oscar nomination. The Red Sea Film Festival is known for championing bold, diverse voices from the Arab world, Africa, and Asia, and the director is honored to be leading the jury for this year's competition.
"Festivals like Red Sea IFF give independent films a vital platform and connect them with a global audience," said Baker. "I'm thrilled to be part of that celebration of cinema and look forward to engaging with the incredible titles in the competition line-up."
