Access Hollywood Trims Crew After E! News Cancellation
26 Sep, 2025
Summary
- E! News canceled after 34 years on air
- Layoffs hit Access Hollywood due to show consolidation
- Remaining programs are Access Hollywood and Access Daily

Last month, the entertainment industry was rocked by the cancellation of the long-running E! News program. After 34 years on air, the final episode of E! News aired on September 12th, 2025. This major shift has now led to layoffs at the Access Hollywood team.
According to sources, the layoffs are a direct result of the E! News cancellation. With only two shows, Access Hollywood and Access Daily, remaining at Terrace Studios, several members of the stage and technical crew who previously worked across all three programs have been let go. While a few Access-only staffers may have also been impacted, the majority of the job losses stem from the consolidation of the entertainment news offerings.
Looking ahead, Access Hollywood and Access Daily will continue to be the two flagship programs at Terrace Studios. The daily E! News series, which first launched in 1991, had a two-year hiatus during the COVID-19 pandemic before being permanently canceled this summer. However, the E! News brand will live on as a digital-only platform.
