Acapulco Sweeps Imagen Awards with Six Wins

The Apple TV+ comedy series Acapulco emerged as the dominant force at the 41st annual Imagen Awards, securing an impressive six trophies during the recent ceremony. The show's final season was honored for its direction, lead actor Enrique Arrizon, supporting actor Eugenio Derbez, supporting actress Vanesa Bauche, and music supervision. The entire Acapulco team and Apple TV+ also received the Creative Achievement Award.

The Imagen Awards, which celebrate Latino talent and creative work, also saw Viva Pictures' drama Brownsville Bred awarded Best Feature Film. ABC's Will Trent and Scrubs took home the top drama and comedy series prizes, respectively. Actor Andy Garcia was presented with the Imagen Foundation's Lifetime Achievement Award, recognized for his significant contributions and mentorship.

Other notable wins included Manuel Garcia-Rulfo for Best Actor – Drama for "The Lincoln Lawyer" and Amirah Vahn for Best Actress – Drama for "Doc." The supporting acting categories in drama were awarded to Michael Peña and Arienne Mandi. Los Angeles County Supervisor Hilda L. Solis received the President's Award.

This year's event also recognized achievements in music composition, documentary filmmaking, youth programming, and podcasting, highlighting a broad spectrum of talent within the Latino creative community.
