Rodríguez, who passed away on November 13, completed this project before his death. The movie's distribution is being handled by FilmSharks.
'Abracadaver' follows three circus magician brothers who reunite for an audacious plan: to steal a twin mummy, valued at millions, from a heavily guarded fortress.
The film was shot in Jalisco, Rodríguez's home state, and received assistance from the local government through the Filma Jalisco initiative. It features a cast including Alberto Estrella, Denisse Corona, and Pablo Abitia.
Distribution rights have already been acquired by Walt Disney Co. for North America, with Hulu holding U.S. streaming rights. Vic Films Corp. will distribute in Central America and the Caribbean. Movistar+ has secured Spanish pay TV and SVOD rights, alongside Spafax inflight rights. Discussions are ongoing for Latin America's pay-one window and other international territories.
