7 Apr
Summary
- Judge denied mother's attempt to halt estate closing.
- Ex-fiancée Melanie Martin will receive non-cash assets.
- Mother alleged illegal withdrawals totaling $24,530.

A Los Angeles court has dismissed a legal battle initiated by the mother of the late pop star Aaron Carter. Jane Schenck's efforts to prevent the finalization of her son's estate were unsuccessful.
A judge ruled the estate to be insolvent, thereby ordering the distribution of its remaining non-cash assets to Carter's ex-fiancée, Melanie Martin.
Schenck had raised concerns regarding the estate's trustee, believing royalties were undervalued. She also accused Martin of making "illegal withdrawals" amounting to $24,530 from Carter's accounts.
While acknowledging Martin as a good mother to their grandson Prince, Schenck expressed a desire not to cause legal harm. However, she requested that Martin not be appointed as the trustee for Prince's trust.
Melanie Martin previously stated that Schenck was misinformed about Aaron Carter's financial affairs. Martin asserted that Aaron had gifted her the LOVE business and that they also maintained joint accounts.
