Aamir Khan's Son Junaid Almost Starred in 'Laal Singh Chaddha'

Aamir Khan shared a surprising detail about the making of 'Laal Singh Chaddha,' revealing his son, Junaid Khan, was a strong contender for the titular role. Initially, Khan asked director Advait Chandan to film several scenes with Junaid, who had recently completed acting training.

Junaid's performance in these test scenes reportedly shocked Aamir Khan, who sought confirmation from his wife, Kiran Rao, that it wasn't just paternal bias. After showing the footage to family and industry peers, most suggested Junaid should play 'Laal.'

Aamir admitted that witnessing Junaid's portrayal created a significant challenge for him as an actor, as he found himself constantly referencing his son's performance. He noted this preoccupation may have disturbed his own acting during the film's shoot.

Despite the compelling evidence of Junaid's talent, the film's studio head in Los Angeles expressed reservations. Citing a signed deal and potential perceptions of nepotism, the studio ultimately favored Aamir Khan reprising the lead role, a decision Aamir stated he made based on merit.
