Summary
- Film to stream on SonyLIV starting April 3.
- Documentary on parents of neurodivergent actors included.
- Khan previously rejected Rs 125 crore OTT deal for direct viewer access.
Aamir Khan has confirmed that his film Sitaare Zameen Par will be available for streaming on SonyLIV starting April 3. Although Khan initially aimed for a more extended theatrical run, he always envisioned a digital premiere for the movie.
The streaming platform will also feature a documentary, 'Sitaaron Ke Sitaare,' which highlights the parents of the neurodivergent actors featured in the film. Khan described these parents as the true superstars for their dedication.
This announcement comes after Khan had previously stated his intention to avoid immediate traditional OTT deals. Last July, he planned a pay-per-view release on his YouTube channel for ₹100, having rejected a reported ₹125 crore offer for the film's OTT rights. Khan expressed a preference for direct audience connection over platform deals.
