Aamir Khan, producer of the historical drama Lahore 1947, has officially denied widespread rumors suggesting a title change to 'Batwara 1947'. Khan stated emphatically that the film's title has not been altered and remains Lahore 1947.
Initial speculation arose from potential audience reception concerns regarding an Indian film bearing the name of a Pakistani city. However, Khan indicated no intention to bow to such pressures.
A separate issue involves producer-director Suneel Darshan, who holds the rights to the title 'Lahore'. Negotiations are reportedly underway to resolve this matter promptly.
Therefore, the film, adapted from the play Jis Lahore Nai Vekhya and starring Sunny Deol, Shabana Azmi, and Preity Zinta, will retain its original title, Lahore 1947.
