Asian American Girl Club Launches Media Empire

Ally Maki's Asian American Girl Club (AAGC), established in 2018, is significantly broadening its scope by launching AAGC Originals, a new media production arm. This expansion encompasses film and television production, alongside the debut of the "Undefinable" podcast.

The "Undefinable" podcast, premiering on Wednesday, will be co-hosted by Jenna Ushkowitz and Kara Wang. Its inaugural season is set to feature prominent guests such as Olympic figure skater Kristi Yamaguchi and musician Hayley Kiyoko.

Founder and CEO Ally Maki stated that the community's testimonials and shared experiences inspired this media development. AAGC Originals aims to amplify Asian American women's voices by exploring important conversations on a larger stage.

Jenna Ushkowitz, also COO, noted that the business growth is attributed to strategic investors who align with AAGC's mission. These investors bring valuable experience and a shared belief in the brand's future direction, signaling a move to the next level.

Maki and Ushkowitz are supported by an executive leadership team including Tia Samn, Olivia Gerke, and Annie Huang. The brand successfully secured private funding from a group of investors.

Maki expressed the importance of shaping narratives led by Asian women in the current media landscape, especially as a new mother. She feels a responsibility to open doors for others and influence future generations' perceptions.

Ushkowitz, with over two decades in entertainment, sought a role to pay forward her experience and help shape authentic stories. She finds championing narratives centered on strong Asian women to be particularly fulfilling in her current career chapter with AAGC Originals.
