80s Rockers Nelson Perform Rare Track in Peacemaker Finale

In a surprising move, DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn has recruited the 80s rock band Nelson to perform a rare track in the season two finale of Peacemaker. The episode, titled "Full Nelson," features the ultra-blonde twin brothers Matthew and Gunnar Nelson taking the stage to play their 2010 power ballad "To Get Back From You," which had only around 30,000 Spotify streams as of October 10, 2025.
Gunn, a self-proclaimed Gen-X punk rocker, says he discovered the song while researching hair metal and was impressed by the brothers' talent. He flew them to Savannah, Georgia, to film the scene, which features Peacemaker star John Cena's character declaring Nelson "the most underrated ever" as he pulls a love interest onto the party boat.
The unexpected appearance of the Nelson brothers, who rose to fame in the 90s with hits like "(Can't Live Without Your) Love and Affection," has brought new attention to their lesser-known work. The "Get Back to You" music video, featuring footage from the Peacemaker episode, was released on October 10, 2025, and a video for the show's theme song "Oh Lord" by Foxy Shazam is also in the works.
