The 70th Filmfare Awards South, hosted in Kochi, recently celebrated outstanding achievements in South Indian cinema. The event brought together stars from Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada industries for a night of awards, performances, and emotional tributes. Kerala Tourism served as the destination partner for this milestone edition, highlighting the cultural vibrancy of the region.
In Telugu cinema, 'Pushpa 2: The Rule' was a major winner, securing five awards including Best Film. Allu Arjun received the Best Actor award for his role in the film. Amitabh Bachchan was honored with the Best Supporting Actor (Male) award for 'Kalki 2898 AD'.
Tamil cinema saw 'Amaran' emerge as the top contender, clinching eight awards, including Best Film. Sivakarthikeyan won Best Actor (Male), and Sai Pallavi received the Best Actor (Female) award. The ceremony also included a posthumous Lifetime Achievement Award presented to the late Sreenivasan, with a tribute from the entire auditorium.
Kannada cinema celebrated 'Shakhahaari' for Best Film, while Prithvi Konanur was awarded Best Director for 'Hadinelentu'. Music categories saw significant wins for 'Krishnam Pranaya Sakhi'. The event was supported by various partners, enhancing its grand scale.
