This endurance challenge invites teams of four to compete for cash prizes. Each team member stands to earn $540 by remaining for the entire 36-hour duration, with an additional $500 bonus if the entire group completes the marathon. Participants also receive a $250 theater credit for concessions.
The contest requires applicants to be New York City residents aged 21 or older. Interested groups must submit a one-minute video on Instagram, using the hashtag #ItEndsMarathonContest, to explain why they are fit for the challenge. The submission deadline is August 17, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. PT. The film itself, which premiered at SXSW, follows graduates on a terrifying road trip into a cosmic horror.
