3 Iconic Movies Departing HBO Max by Month's End
26 Sep, 2025
Summary
- Cult classic "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World" leaving HBO Max
- Romantic drama "Water for Elephants" streaming until September 30
- Sci-fi classic "The Terminator" available until end of September

With the end of September fast approaching, HBO Max subscribers are running out of time to catch some of their favorite movies that will be leaving the platform. While HBO Max does not directly list the departing titles, the Watch With Us team has identified three must-watch films that will be unavailable after September 30.
First on the list is the 2010 cult classic "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World," director Edgar Wright's adaptation of the graphic novel series. The film, starring Michael Cera as the slacker protagonist who must battle his new love interest's seven evil exes, has become a beloved cult favorite over the years.
Next is the 2011 period romantic drama "Water for Elephants," which follows a young veterinarian (Robert Pattinson) who joins a circus and falls for one of the performers (Reese Witherspoon), despite her abusive husband (Christoph Waltz) who owns the circus.
Rounding out the trio is the 1984 sci-fi masterpiece "The Terminator," which launched the iconic franchise. Arnold Schwarzenegger stars as the relentless T-800 android sent back in time to kill Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton), who is protected by a time-traveling soldier (Michael Biehn).
Fans of these cinematic gems will need to act quickly to catch them on HBO Max before they depart the platform at the end of the month.
