The upcoming 2026 Grammy Awards ceremony, scheduled for February 1st, presents an opportunity for new entertainment history to be made. Hosted by Trevor Noah from Los Angeles' Crypto.com Arena, the event could see several nominees achieve the coveted EGOT status.
EGOT signifies winning at least one competitive award from each of the major entertainment fields: an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar, and a Tony. To date, a select group of 27 celebrities have reached this milestone.
Notable recent EGOT recipients include Elton John and the songwriting team Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, who both earned their status after winning Emmys in 2024. Other distinguished EGOT holders are John Legend, Jennifer Hudson, Viola Davis, and composer Robert Lopez, who uniquely holds two EGOTs.
Additionally, some have achieved EGOT status through non-competitive accolades. Barbra Streisand received a special Tony in 1970, and the late James Earl Jones was honored with an honorary Academy Award in 2011.
