2 Broke Girls Stars Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs Eyed for Reunion
2 Oct
Summary
- Producers considered casting Kat Dennings on Beth Behrs' show The Neighborhood
- Shifting Gears showrunner eager to bring Behrs onto Dennings' current show
- Potential for 2 Broke Girls co-stars to reunite on either set

In the 8 years since the cancellation of the hit sitcom 2 Broke Girls, fans have been eagerly awaiting a reunion between its lead stars Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs. Now, it appears that the stars may finally align.
Dennings currently stars in the ABC series Shifting Gears, which is in its second season. Meanwhile, Behrs is preparing for the eighth and final season of the CBS comedy The Neighborhood, set to premiere on October 13th. Interestingly, producers of The Neighborhood had previously considered bringing Dennings onto the show for a guest role.
"We talked about [stunt-casting] Kat Dennings a couple of seasons ago," reveals The Neighborhood co-showrunner Mike Schiff. "We actually had a possible role for her, but she wasn't available." The role would have seen Dennings' character confront a secret from Behrs' character's past.
Now, Shifting Gears showrunner Michelle Nader, who previously worked on 2 Broke Girls, is eager to make the reunion a reality. "We want Beth to come over," Nader says, noting that the two shows film just five miles apart in the Los Angeles area. However, coordinating schedules between the two busy actresses remains a challenge.
Schiff and his fellow Neighborhood EP Bill Martin are also open to hosting Dennings or other 2 Broke Girls alums during their show's final season. "We have spoken with them over the years about getting people on, and I would love to do that," Schiff says. Ultimately, the chance to see Dennings and Behrs together again remains a real possibility for 2 Broke Girls fans.
